4G technology 30 times faster than broadband
September 6th 2006 01:23
Imagine data transmission 50 times faster than the current WiMAX technology and 30 times faster than a broadband connection. Well, the new 4G technology for mobile phones can make this possible. Despite all this benefits it’s unlikely that the new technology becomes a standard before 2008.
A key benefit of this new platform is that data transmission will not be disturbed even when users are travelling at 75 miles per hour. The companies behind the development of the 4G technology are Samsung and NTT DoCoMo, in the US Nextel Corp is a likely partner.

As cool as it sounds/is, I'm still waiting for decent internet connectivity. Last thing I want is to be streaming internet through my mobile phone because my actual broadband internet is slower.
So if its 30 times faster current broadband... I'm running on 512kbps, does that mean it will be running at 30x that? That would be pretty darn fast...
