Dell goes green

It is good to see movement towards a more environmental computer industry. Dell has announced the launch of a new program for the recycling of old Dell equipment and the best part is that is free. The new policy is going to be applied world wide. This new policy can be seen as an upgrade of the actual company policy of recovery under the condition of buying a new Dell product. Now you don’t have to buy a new Dell product to enjoy this service.
It seems to me like Dell is developing a deeper commitment with the environment. Obviously the company is winning something with this but the customers are winning as well.
The global recovery strategy of Dell relies on one of its famous core competences: Logistics. The development of a strong reverse logistics network at the global level opens the door to other global companies to adopt this model.
The service of computer recovery for recycling will be launched globally in November this year.
