The green roof movement is growing in strength around the world. This architecture resource born in Germany is gaining adepts, perhaps because of the pressure of the environmental issues. In North America, green roof space grew 80 percent last year.
This trend was developed in Germany in the 1950’s and now this country accounts for 32,000 square acres of green roof space and adds an additional 13 square kilometres per year. In the US the use of the green roof accounts for 200,000 square meters.
Builders can develop Green roof installation from US $9 per square foot. Among the benefits of the green roof are energy cost savings because it helps increasingly to cool temperatures, filter air, and lessen the burden on sewers by absorbing rainwater.
