Intel’s Active Management Technology

July 12th 2006 12:55

Intel has found an interesting way to promote its network technology called AMT (Active Management Technology), Intel is using an online game to show the benefits of its new technology. The game called Crimescene is about a fictitious company that must be protected from hacker attacks that aim to steal its confidential information.

The AMT technology allows IT departments to manage remotely their network computing assets. A key characteristic is the use of non-volatile memory delivering network structure information stability. Systems can be healed remotely after OS failures relying in an out-of-band management.

Also the non volatile memory capabilities can be used by third party software suppliers to make updates or retrievals after hours without compromising performance in business hours.
