Latest Plasma TV

The new king amongst TV screens should be the new Panasonic 103 inches plasma TV. Panasonic is launching this TV as a response of the growing market share of the LCD’s TVs that are offering HD images.
The 103 inches plasma TV will be available in Japan this September at a price of $50.000 US; the company is expecting to sell 5000 units a year. The weight of this monster is 215 kg and the size….well is like a dinning table (2.4 by 1.4 meters). In plasma terms, Matsuhita is the leader with 20% of the market followed by LG with 18%.
This plasma screen will feature up to 1,920 by 1,080 pixels resolution, and a brightness rating of 3000-1.
The marketing approach from Panasonic will be based on the launch of 4 new plasma tvs ranging from 103 inches to 50 inches. The closest competitor is Samsung with it’s 102 inches plasma TV.
Just one comment: if you don’t have a house that goes along with a 103 inches plasma screen…….don‘t make the effort.
