A massive download speed of 20 Mb/sec is projected by T-Mobile in the UK, The technology that will make this possible in 2010 is called 3G LTE. The speed will be achieved with the aid of HSDPA, or the High-Speed Downlink Packet Access protocol.
The company strategy involves using HSDPA to improve the data transfer rates of its 3G service from the current 384kbps to 1.8Mbps in 2006, and then onto 20Mbps by 2010.
In the next future, this high-speed service could eliminate the current structure of cable model or DSL broadband internet access along with landline phone service.
