Microsoft is near to launch its personal multimedia player to compete in the market against the unbeatable IPOD (for now), Microsoft’s gadget is going to be called ZUNE. At the moment ZUNE is waiting for the FCC (Federal communications commission) approval but some information has been finding its way to us.
The device is going to be produced by Toshiba, which is also producing Microsoft’s HD DVD add-on for the XBOX 360. The strategic alliance of Microsoft and Toshiba is going ahead for this new gadget that will be launched in November.
ZUNE will feature 802.11b/g wireless connectivity, 3" LCD screen, 1.8" 30GB hard drive, FM tuner and obviously audio and video playback capabilities. Using the wireless capability, users will be able to send pictures, songs and playlists. ZUNE owners will be able to communicate wirelessly to any ZUNE nearby being allowed to use the DJ tool. The DJ tool let users to stream content up to four users; these users will be able to listen in real time whatever music you are playing at the moment. The user will be able to accept or reject and audience.
