Microsoft’s US$1.5 deal

There is some news about the popular Microsoft’s Office suit. Since the release of the Office 2007 beta, more than 3 million people have downloaded the software. The software giant is planning to charge users for downloading the beta version based on the “high costs” of the operation for the company.
The announcement is kind of risky for Microsoft who based a major part of its debugging process on the feedback received by the beta users. It will make more sense if the beta users charge Microsoft for the use of a not yet finished product, that they are helping to debug.
Microsoft is intending to charge US $1.5 per downloaded copy. The measure will be take place this week, meanwhile the Office 2007 beta version can be downloaded at this site. The suit is planned to be launched on January next year.
