Imagine to have thousands of parallel processor on a single low cost chip, this is what Kilocore is about. Kilocore is a new computer technology architecture developed by Rappaport together with IBM. The technology delivers high performance for simultaneous multiple functions saving energy. This new architecture could be the new standard for mobile devices.

Hi Andre, could you give me some links so I could read some more about the Kilocore chip? Also, what are the implications of such a chip? what are mobile devices going to be able to do with this chip that they could not before? Is there any competition?

The benefits of this new technology are in energy consumption and performance, for example an user will be able to view streaming live and high-definition video on a low-power, mobile device at five to 10 times the speed of existing processors.

The competition are the dual core chips that are invading the market but with it's 1,024 eight-bit processing elements the Kilocore chip will beat them for sure.
