Open Office new version

Open Office has become more reliable. Now OpenOffice.org 2.0.3 is available for download here, this new version has a 23% improvement in calc tools. Also the compatibility with the Microsoft Office suite was improved as well.


The necessity to cut costs further within businesses has made this option more attractive and now that security fixes have taken place, the suite is a real option. Is kind of a paradox that businesses mistrust this type of initiatives (Maybe its because of the $0 cost), but give it a chance and think about all the positions in the company that don’t need all the features of a Microsoft office suite, and since there is compatibility with the Bill Gates’ suite, why not?.

Some other features of the Open Office suite are:

Support for more languages and improvements in hyphenation and thesaurus

Support for Intel architecture for Mac OS X plus improved Mac OS X System integration

Built-in check for updated versions

I installed Open Office once... it just didn't flow very well. It's a nice idea, but if it's not better than Office, I can't be persuaded to change...

Maybe is not good for an expert user like you...but think about the small businesses performing dull tasks. That will be a good cost reduction.
