CNN reports that according to a speculative paper released by the British government, one day robots will be intelligent enough to demand freedom from their human owners and will have to be treated as citizens. If not, the robots could sue for their rights.

The paper had a number of warnings including a "monumental shift" could occur if robots developed to the point where they could reproduce, improve or think for themselves.

Does this paper make some legitimate points, or have they watched too many movies?
