Could Microsoft's Zune Catch the iPod?

CNN reports that Microsoft expects to sell 1 million of its new Zune music players through the first half of 2007 in the United States. This would be nothing compared to iPod sales, but Microsoft claim that would be a good start.

The Zune sells for $250 and has a 30 Gig capacity. It went on sale in mid-November to mixed reviews. It will be a year before it's released anywhere else. One unique aspect of the Zune is it allows users wirelessly send songs to each other. Will it make a dent into the iPod's dominance?
